ANNOUNCING
February 2010 Dear Parish Leader, We are excited to share with you the opportunity to receive funding for your ministries through two generous grant programs from the Diocese of Joliet Catholic Education Foundation: The Diocesan Faith Formation Grant and The Outreach Initiative Grant. These grants provide “seed money” to help parishes and clusters (or leadership groups that serve parishes) initiate innovative, sustainable, and promising models of effective catechesis and evangelization. It is relatively simple for your parish or cluster to apply for either grant program, described below:
Last year, twenty proposals from around the Diocese of Joliet were funded by these two initiatives. This coming year, $25,000 will be dispersed among the grant recipients. Parishes and clusters can receive up to $3000 to develop new and creative faith formation and evangelization efforts. Parish financial need is always a consideration; however it is only one of several factors in determining the distribution of these awards. If you feel you have something that might qualify, please complete and return the grant application (available online at www.dioceseofjoliet.org/edfoundation/ministrygrants.asp by April 30, 2010. Award decisions will be made no later than July 1 of this year, with funds distributed in July. Thank you for your commitment to developing ministry that is innovative, effective, and renewing to Christ’s Church. We are happy to assist you or your staff at any point along in the process. Feel free to contact us if we can answer any questions you may have about these important funding opportunities. Yours in Christ,
The Catholic Education Foundation is pleased to offer funding to parishes or clusters within the Diocese of Joliet for two types of ministry grants: faith formation and outreach initative. More program information is available through the links below.
