St. Jude Peace and Social Justice Ministry will host SOCIAL JUSTICE DAY: A Call to Care and Compassion on Oct. 21, at Providence High School in New Lenox from 8:30 a.m.-1 p.m. (Presentations begin at 9 a.m.)
The day will consist of four 45-minute workshops on the following topics that face 21st-century Christians: Environment and Care for God’s Creation by Dr. Mark Potosnak of Catholic Climate Covenant; Human Trafficking by Sister Jean Okroi, IBVM, of Illinois Women Religious Against Human Trafficking; Immigration by Elena Segura, Archdiocese of Chicago Immigration Ministry; and Welcoming Refugees by Sue Horgan, Exodus World Service.
There is no fee to attend; guests will be given the opportunity to make a free-will offering. Light snacks will be served throughout the event.
