Loretto Early Childhood Center
Wheaton, IL
HISTORY The Loretto Sisters opened a Kindergarten in 1952 to meet the needs of the Catholic parents of the Wheaton community. They provided a quality program for five year old children. In 1983, a kindergarten program was no longer needed at this site but there was a need for a Catholic preschool. We serve 26 children: 3 year olds attend 2 days a week either in the morning or afternoon, and 4 year olds attend Monday, Wednesday and Friday either in the morning or afternoon. MISSION The Loretto Early Childhood Center exists to provide a strong Catholic educational environment for young children. We recognize children as gifted, unique personalities needing individual patterning and timing for appropriate development. The school supports the importance of the family in the life of young children as they grow through their early school experience. SCHOOL BOARD ROSTER AND OFFICERS Colleen LaMantia, President
