Eighty percent of students in private schools come from families in which two parents are in the household, while 18.4 percent come from families in which only one parent is present. Another 1.6 percent are raised by nonparental guardians. For all K-12 students in the country (public, private, and homeschooled), 70.9 percent are in two-parent households; 26.2 percent are raised by one parent, and 3.0 are cared for by nonparental guardians.
