CONVOCATION XI

"CHRIST THE SERVANT"

As you may remember from previous updates, our April 2009 Convocation will incorporate some changes in format.  Following our keynote presentation, we will have a series of guided discussions focusing on how we can follow up on ideas from the keynote as we live our diaconate each day.

The planning group has been fine-tuning the specific topics for each discussion group and identifying community members to facilitate the discussions.

In addition to its facilitator, each discussion group will also have a “recorder” assigned to it. This person will keep track of the various comments made during the conversation, and take notes of the main points made.  These notes will later be made available to the whole diaconate community so we can learn from each other’s reactions and ideas, even from the sessions we couldn't attend.

We are now looking for about 20 community members to volunteer to serve as recorders for these discussion groups.  Early next winter, we will have a training session so all the recorders can be consistent and confident in their roles.

Would you like to offer to serve our community by being one of these recorders?   If so, please contact Jim Dennison (phone 815-936-1798, email jdennison@butter.toast.net).   Thanks in advance for your service!
