St. Paul the Apostle Parish – Joliet, Illinois

St. Paul the Apostle Parish is seeking a dynamic Director of Music Ministry to plan, coordinate, and continue to build our music ministry program.  Based on the selected candidate, this role has the opportunity to be either part-time or full-time.


In addition to supervising all church music, full-time candidates would have the opportunity to enrich the lives of children by leading St. Paul the Apostle Catholic School’s music program.  Part-time candidates will focus solely on the church music ministry of St Paul the Apostle Parish.


The Director of Music Ministry will work autonomously reporting to the pastor as they direct/accompany/supervise musicians, cantors and choirs for four weekend liturgies, holy days, weekly school Mass, funerals, weddings, First Eucharist and Confirmation, etc. 


Successful candidates must be an active, practicing Catholic with experience in adult, youth and children’s choirs as well as with traditional liturgical music.  In addition, a Bachelor’s Degree in music, minimum 3 years’ of experience in Catholic music ministry and liturgy, and proficiency in multiple musical styles. Strong organ, piano, choir direction and vocal skills are necessary. Strong communication and organizational skills are required. Resumes can be e-mailed to musicsearch@stpauljoliet.com.
