Catholic Charities seeks volunteers to assist at its Daybreak Center. Daybreak Center is the largest shelter of its kind in Will County and provides emergency shelter for up to 100 persons each night in addition to a variety of other emergency services. Volunteers are always needed in many areas at the Center to assist in the programs we provide to the homeless and low income population. Catholic Charities seeks mentors to work directly with homeless families supporting them with their daily journey. Mentors are compassionate, non-judgemental, respectful and sensitive to the confidentiality required to preserve the dignity of the family. Catholic Charities is seeking Senior Companion Volunteers who will visit the frail and elderly in their homes. Must be age 60 or older and able to volunteer 20 hours per week. Volunteers receive a tax-free stipend and other benefits.

The Religious Education Office is looking for help with various basic office tasks.

Catholic Charities in Joliet, IL needs administrative help on an on-going basis.  An administrative volunteer would be asked to do filing of accounting records, assist in regular mailings (for example, to board members), organize and assemble binders for presentations / meetings, etc.
