University of Dayton Virtual Learning Community

The Diocese of Joliet is a partner with the VLCFF to offer adult faith formation via the internet.  These 5 week courses and 3 week seminars are available on a variety of Catholic faith topics.  Because we are a partner diocese, people anywhere in the Diocese of Joliet can take an online course for only $40 plus the cost of books.  Some courses are available in Spanish.

Monthly Charismatic Prayer Meeting 
 Blanchette Catholic Center, Crest Hill

Everyone is welcome!  A Charismatic Prayer Meeting is a gathering of Christians to give praise, thanks, honor and love to Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior.  It's a time to gather in community, to praise God as we are led by the Holy Spirit in song, scripture and spiritual gifts.  These monthly meetings generally take place on the last Wednesday of each month from 7:00-9:00PM. Lay Leadership Formation Program

This two-year certificate program is a collaboration with the Archdiocese of Chicago.  The program is designed to serve several constituencies, including those involved in parish leadership, volunteer ministries at the parish level, and those adults seeking quality enrichment in the Catholic tradition.  Classes meet weekly throughout the academic year.  Monthly formation days take place on Saturdays at St. Mary of the Lake in Mundelein.  For more information about the program and the application process please visit www.instituteforlayformation.org, call 847-970-4926 or email mshaffer@usml.edu

Prayer at Abortion Clinics

Many parishes help maintain a prayerful presence at the abortion clinics located in the Diocese of Joliet. The Diocesan Respect Life Office maintains a listing of locations and times that prayer takes place.  Please visit their calendar of events and join in prayer whenever you can.  Or you may call them at 815-221-6251 for more information.

40 Days for Life-This campaign is a community based campaign that draws attention to the evil of abortion through the use of a three-point program of: prayer and fasting, peaceful  vigil and community outreach. Natural Family Planning

The Joliet Diocesan Natural Family Planning Program teaches the Billings Ovulation Method of NFP.  These two-session classes in English and Spanish are offered for a fee of $50 per couple and take place at the Blanchette Catholic Center in Crest Hill, St. Dominic Parish in Bolingbrook, Presence St. Mary Hospital in Kankakee and St. Joseph Church in Addision.  For general information about dates and times please call the Office of Family Ministry at 815-838-5334 or see their calendar of events.

Rachel's Vineyard Retreats

Post abortive women and men are encouraged to attend these retreats which are held approximately two times per year.  They begin at 6:00PM and continue through Sunday early afternoon.  See brochure.  Contact Kay at 1-866-4483 for additional information.

This weekly self-help support group is for widowed, divorced, or those going through a divorce as we adjust to our new roles as singles again.  Join us any time since we meet every Tuesday night at 7:30PM at St. Raphael's Church, 1215 Modaff Rd., in Naperville.  Besides having speakers, we have a rotating schedule of discussions based on the book "Suddenly Single". Monthly Healing Mass

Fr. Steven Bondi, pastor of St. Philip the Apostle parish, invites you to a monthly healing mass that takes place at 7:30PM on the First Friday of every month.  Come be renewed in body and spirit.  St. Philip is located at 1233 W. Seasons of Hope 
SS. Peter & Paul, Naperville

This Christ-centered faith sharing group is intended for those who have lost a loved one through death.  For more information or to register please contact Deacon Joe Verdico at 630-718-2155 or parish nurse, Paulette Shea at 630-718-2127.  This group will meet in the St. Paul Center at the corner of Benton and Brainard at 6:30PM.  Limited number of openings available for Season Two which begin on December 4, 2017.

This faith based cancer support group meets on the third Monday of the month at St. Alphonsus Church and is supported by community members from various church denominiations.  The goal is to provide a safe and loving place for participants to express their feelings, share their stories and have an opportunity to seek God's grace.  For questions or to confirm meeting date please contact Kevin Cody at kcody-stals@comcast.net or call him at 630-257-2371.  St. Alphonsus is located at 605 State St., in Lemont (corner of Logan & Walnut, Walnut entrance).
