Resources for Ongoing Formation

for Catechist Certification Credit

There are many options for ongoing formation for catchist certification credit. Local events, online learning and more can qualify, as long as the catechist is a learner. (Please consult with your local Director of Religious Education, Principal or Youth Minister for more information.) After participating in faith formation, Catechists & teacher-catechists should turn in a Catechists Record of Formation form to their local DRE or principal.

LEARN ONLINE!!

Dayton Online or Virtual Community for Faith Formation (VLCFF) offers affordable faith formation courses anytime and anywhere via the internet. Learners can connect and grow through the opportunity to share faith with others from all over the world. Because we are a “partnership Diocese”, tuition in most cases is only $40 (textbooks additional, though some reading is available online). 5-week courses are the equivalent of 10 DOJ Catechist Certification hours, 3-week seminars = 5 hours.

Visit University of Dayton website for information and schedules.

GENERATIONS OF FAITH PARISH?

Online learning is available at the GOF website in the Training Center. Your time spent in completion of these short online courses can be submitted to your local director of religious education or youth minister for catechist certification credit!
