Spring Training Get equiped for the "New Evangelization" with the tools you w'll need to outreach, evangelize, and minister to adults in their late teens, twenties, and thirties. Sunday, May 18, 2008 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (includes Sunday mass) St. Charles Borromeo Diocesan Pastoral Center 402 S. Independence Blvd. (at Rt. 53 and Airport Rd.), Romeoville Click here for the Registration Form Click here for a downloadable flyer (with registration form)
This one-day program will feature a series of workshops and hands-on training exercises from experts and leaders in ministry to young adults and college students. Just like great baseball players need to warm up each spring to be the best player for the rest of the year, this is a chance for parish leaders, pastoral staffs, and young adults themselves to get the tools and training to most effectively reach out and market to, and work with men and women in their late teens, twenties, and thirties. Pope John Paul II spoke of "The New Evangelization" and this is one way to get ready for what that practically means for the parishes and communities in our Diocese in relation to young adult Catholics in the 21st Century.
COST: Only $10.00 per person. (this cost includes lunch and workshops) This event is open to: young adult and campus ministers; pastoral associates; youth ministers; adult faith formation leaders; coordinators of RCIA, marriage preparation, baptism preparation, and welcoming ministries; pastors, priests, and deacons; religious community leaders; and anyone interested in better connecting and marketing to young adults in their late teens, twenties, and thirties. Additionally, participants are welcome not only from the Diocese of Joliet, but also the Archdiocese of Chicago, the Diocese of Rockford, the Diocese of Gary, and other surrounding areas who are able to come to this event.
