Catechist Initial Formation Day & Follow-up Retreat

New Catechists should start with Catechist Initial Formation Day. This is a spiritual and practical learning experience designed to be an introduction to the ministry of catechesis in the Church and the roles of a catechist. The event is also suitable for nearly new catechists of all age-groups, and any catechist who simply wants to refresh their sense of mission.

Attendees will also experience several different ways to pray, learn to create a prayer space in the classroom, experience different learning styles and receive a packet of resources and creative ideas they can take home and use.

Initial Formation Registration and Schedule for 2017

(Please turn your registration in to your local parish director or coordinator of religious education. Normally, the parish pays for catechists to attend.)

CATECHIST RETREAT:  Finding and Sharing Your Story of Faith
Designed as a follow-up experience, this two-hour retreat gives catechists an opportunity to discover/rediscover where God is working in their lives and to get in touch with their experience of being a catechist.   Normally offered in the Spring.
