Our Mission

As an agent of the Bishop and in response to Jesus' evangelical call, the Religious Education Office guides and supports parish catechetical leaders and parish faith formation programs to make Catholic faith known and lived in the Diocese of Joliet.

The Religious Education Office is here primarily to serve parish leaders of the diocese, and through them, help parish catechists, parents, and Catholic adults to find resources and methods that enhance evangelizing catechesis. You will find information on our site on:

  • best practices
  • creative ideas
  • policies and procedures
  • resources for faith formation of adults and children
  • models and resources for intergenerational formation
  • upcoming formation events
  • ongoing opportunities for growth

Please do not hesitate to contact one of our staff members with your questions about faith formation.
