This retreat will explore how Matthew’s Sermon on the
Mount cultivated the minds and souls of his first century hearers
and will invite the retreatants to do the same by re-imagining
how these inspired texts continue to evoke new interpretive horizons.

Cardinal Stritch Retreat
invites all ministers of the Church
to a retreat.
Retreat begins 7:00 p.m. on July 27
and ends with lunch on August 2, 2010
"A Directed Retreat"
Beginning with an orientation conference on July 27 at 7PM and concluding August 2, 2010, after a group morning session and lunch, we offer to all ministers of the Catholic Church, a directed retreat with Fr. Robert Schoenstene, Mrs. Kate Wiskus and Sr. Georgene Wilson, OSF.
Encounter God in the quiet of Cardinal Stritch Retreat House, on the grounds of its adjoining 900 acres of forest and water. A directed retreat is an opportunity for the seeker to meet, one-on-one, with the spiritual director each day. In one’s individual, private conferences, you will explore God’s presence in your life. Beyond the daily meeting with your director, the time is yours for prayer, rest, silence and contemplation. Daily Mass will also be offered.
For this retreat, Cardinal Stritch Retreat House has retained Fr. Robert Schoenstene, ordained in 1975 for the Diocese of Joliet, who serves as Professor of Scripture at Mundelein Seminary, a position he has held since 1988. Just as Fr. Schoenstene has led our seminarians over many years, he offers to accompany others in their journeys. Joining Fr. Schoenstene is Dr. Kate Wiskus, Associate Dean of Formation and full time faculty in Pastoral Life at the Seminary. Kate has extensive experience in formation of lay ministers, seminarians and deacons. Also, she has served in a variety of diocesan leadership roles. In addition to her Scripture degrees, she has received the Doctor of Ministry degree at USML in Mundelein. And last, but not least—the third director will be Sr. Georgene Wilson, OSF, a Franciscan sister who is an anchorite, author, artist, spiritual and retreat director who lives in Wheaton, Illinois. Sr. Georgene has many years of retreat experience and is a gifted spiritual director.
The fee for the accommodations, all meals, snacks and the services of the spiritual director is $490.00. Each retreatant’s room is individually air conditioned and equipped with private bathroom facilities. The chapel, dining room and all public meeting space is also air conditioned.
