RETREAT OFFERINGS
"The Healing Care of Our Garden" with Rev. Christopher Krymski, OSM Cardinal Stritch Retreat House invites all women religious to a retreat beginning 7:30 p.m. on July 11 and ending with lunch on July 15, 2011. This retreat will explore the meaning of "garden"--both our own selves, as well as where we find ourselves in the world--and how to care lovingly for these different gardens through the insights of our Catholic traditions. Fr. Krymski is the national director of the National Shrine of St. Peregrine, as well as pastor of Our Lady of Sorrows Basilica Parish. Through the ministry of prayer, blessing and reconciliation, the Shrine works to accompany caregivers and those who live with serious illness. Coupled with the insights from the work of the Shrine, Fr. Krymski brings his background in art therapy (BA/BFA in studio arts and Masters in Art Therapy from Chicago's Art Institute) to this retreat. Fr. Krymski also has a Masters of Divinity from CTU in Chicago and served as a chaplain for ten years at Loyola Hospital. It is Fr. Krymski's art which energizes his life. Joining Fr. Krymski for an extended session will be Joseph Malham, artist in residence at St. Gregory Church in Chicago. Mr. Malham is an iconograher and will be on hand to explain the theology and art of icons. Icons, windows into the divine, are useful in the project of both praise of God as well as assisting us to ground ourselves in the gardens in which we live. Both Fr. Krymski and Mr. Malham are lively presenters and will uplift you and encourage you. Please call 847.566.6060 with any questions. www.stritchretreat.org The fee for the retreat, accommodations and all meals is $345.00.
Future retreats will be posted.
