What is the Young Adult Papal Pilgrimage?

This is a pilgrimage trip for young adults (18 to 35) who will

travel to Madrid, Spain, in connection with the 2011 World

Youth Day Celebration with Pope Benedict XVI and millions

of other young Catholics from around the world.

Are there two travel options?  Which will I go on?

Yes.  There are two packages available.  The first is the

deluxe package, a 13-day excursion which will include stops

in Lisbon, Fatima, Salamanca, and Avila before Madrid.

The second is the basic package, a 10-day trip which will

take participants from Chicago to Madrid for WYD events.

The young adults participating on this trip are

traveling with the 10-day package due to financial

and time issues; however, if you really would like to

attend the larger trip, please contact Paul Jarzembowski

as soon as possible (space is very limited on the 13-day

excursion; yet more avaialble on the 10-day program).

Please note there is a also a $1000 cost difference

between the two trip packages to Madrid.

Is there financial assistance for this trip?

Yes.  For those who cannot afford the costs of the trip,

we recommend applying for a financial aid package.

While the aid cannot be guaranteed, we encourage

all those who feel a need to apply for this possibility.

When do I need submit my enrollment form?

As soon as possible - to secure your spot on the pilgrimage.

Ideally, we would like to have the enrollment forms no later

than Thursday, April 15, 2010.  Beyond that date, those

who express interest will be put onto a waiting list (which

will be handled on a first-come, first-serve basis).

Can people outside the Joliet Diocese come, too?

Yes.  This trip is open to any young adult 18 to 35 and

we welcome those from the Chicago, Rockford, Gary,

and other surrounding dioceses to join our pilgrimage.

Please note, however, that financial aid is reserved

for those living or worshipping in the Diocese of Joliet.

Where will we be staying?  Which airline will we be flying?

These and other travel details will be released to WYD pilgrims soon.

At this moment, however, this information is not available to us.
