- Ash Wednesday Evangelization Workshop: This resource meeting for Parish Staff & Leadership will take place on Thursday, February 2, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the St. Charles Borromeo Pastoral Center in Romeoville. Come to this workshop to explore some creative ways to use Ash Wednesday and the Lenten season as new evangelization moments. VOCATIONS OFFICE
- ADOPT A SEMINARIAN (OR CANDIDATE) PROGRAM: This is an opportunity for a youth group, school, religious education class or parish to adopt a seminarian, a man who is studying to be a priest, or a candidate, a woman preparing to be a sister, to encourage them on their journey by writing letters. - JAVA: Members of JAVA, men and women religious from the Diocese of Joliet, are available and willing to speak at a parish youth ministry event in order to promote vocations. If interested, please contact the Vocation Office ((815-834-4004).

Safe Environment Office
- Employees and volunteers are to have the following documentation on file:
- Results of a criminal background investigation;
- Written acknowledgement that the person has read and understood the Pastoral Policy Regarding Sexual Abuse of Minors and the Standards of Behavior for Those Working with Minors;
- Proof of attendance at a Protecting God’s Children program.
- RE-SCREENING OF VOLUNTEERS: Background checks for volunteers are renewed every five years through one of the above mentioned resources, i.e., Premier InfoSource; Illinois State Police & CANTS, or ChoicePoint/Volunteer Select. The parish/school may choose to have the person fingerprinted. Prior to any re-screening, the person is required to sign another release form.
